In order to comply with latest government WCAG 2.1 regulations that apply to government and public body websites, Halstead Town Council needed to update their website so it performed better on all devices and was accessible to a variety of users.
The old site hadn’t been maintained for a while and the decision was made to build a new website, importing in the current content as well as building on it. At the same time updating the design, ensuring accessibility and mobile friendly.
“Halstead Town council have an up-to-date, modern website, accessible on all devices, including mobiles, thanks to Chris Whiting and the team at Lexden computers. The site is now secure, accessible to all those with any kind of disability, and really easy to navigate. I am recommending Lexden to all my contacts who need a new website. We could not have had a more professional job done, and Chris is very easy to work with.”

They update their website regularly to keep local residents informed on council business, local events, news and more so it was important that it was easy to use and update to allow them to take control. Through the admin area they are able to update all pages, add new blog posts, agendas, minutes and financial details.
Before building the site we took the time to learn the existing process of updating the site, and what they required so we could streamline those tasks and make updating the site simple that it currently was.
Before the site going live we providing custom-made user manuals for the admin area as well as providing in-person training through key tasks to ensure everyone is comfortable adding content.
